Government and Freedom

Government. Thomas Jefferson believed that it should do very little in the day to day affairs of the people. The purpose of the government has always been to protect the very rights for which men have died for. Now it seems that our people are very willing to give up their rights for a little more security. Foolish whims that will endanger our way of life. Bush's policies are toppling the true ideas of the founding fathers, secular government that allows free enterprise and peoples rights and only steps in if either are threatened. The illegal "War on Terror" I put it in quotes as Bush has used scare tactics on the American peoples since his biggest failure before the war in Iraq and Katrina, 9/11, has placed the United States in immediate danger from the outside world, because if they didn't hate us before, they are surely angered by the fact that we defied the United Nations and were not punished. It is our duty as citizens to change this governement. I for one have had enough of the religious right, the conservatives, the liberals, and the extremists. At one point in history, our entire country fought off the British, one of the greatest armies in the world at the time, because we were fiercely loyal to this country. Now it seems that we have alienated our own people time and time again, enough that people now fear the government. It is time to band together again my brothers, my sisters, and my friends. Band together as Americans first, then join together again, united with the World, rather than against it.
